EDITORIAL CONTACTS:

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Oct. 22, 2007 — Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) and ETS-Lindgren will demonstrate the industry’s first solution for WiMAX radiated performance testing (RPT) at the WiMAX Forum Showcase and Conference in Taipei. With the inclusion of the Agilent E6651A test set for Mobile WiMAX™ and the Agilent EXA Signal Analyzer, the capability of this solution, called the AMS-8500 system, now covers WiMAX RPT.

“ETS-Lindgren is a key partner for Agilent in meeting needs of the WiMAX market,” said Niels Faché, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s Mobile Broadband Division. “The E6651A is the only product to blend protocol conformance, RF and application functional testing in a single package, and this latest development extends its use into radiated performance test.”

This solution addresses the needs of test houses and manufacturers who want to pass the WiMAX Forum’s RPT requirements as part of the Forum’s product-certification process. The goal of this process is to assure that WiMAX-enabled products perform as expected and provide the customer with a reliable communication experience. One portion of the certification process is the RPT that measures transmit power and receive sensitivity of WiMAX devices.

“We know that once the WiMAX Forum approves the RPT, there will be a rush by manufacturers to obtain radiated performance testing for their products,” said Bryan Sayler, senior vice president at ETS-Lindgren. “By working with Agilent we are quickly able to develop our existing solutions to cover the WiMAX Forum’s RPT requirements.”
